Lake Anne Revitalization

At the Reston Community Reinvestment Corporation (RCRC) meeting on the 13^th, Guy Rando and John Carter presented their concepts and views on the BBPA recommendations for the Comprehensive Plan. The RCRC was interested in examples of potential designs for the revitalization and had requested the presentation. The session was well attended by Lake Anne residents.

The RCRC had sent in May a letter to Supervisor Hudgins with its comments on the BBPA draft; however, few of the residents were aware of the contents. The WPCA Board has also sent comments to the Supervisor. Both documents are available on the WPCA website at http://home.comcast.net/~wpca_webmaster/index.html . The County staff recognizes that parking and transportation/roadwork planning are critical to any revitalization design. Consequently, they are preparing to issue a contract for a study of these issues. It is expected that this will be completed in early 2008. When this is in hand, the staff will proceed with preparing a draft Comprehensive Plan for the Lake Anne revitalization, which will be the subject of public meetings.
