ADMINISTRATION

Annapolis-Boy Scouts of America, Troop 396, Administration Page.  Boy Scout, Michael Merritt.

A Little Administrative gobbledygook for those having trouble sleeping...

bullet    This web page was developed with Microsoft FrontPage 2000.  Ostensibly, that would seem to mean it looks best in Internet Explorer, but it actually looks better in Netscape in my opinion; less cartoonish.  I'm not sure why this information is relevant to the casual visitor, but I see it on lots of other websites, so assume that there are those who find value in it.  Then, again, Don Quixote found value in a bed pan.  You never know. . .

bullet    Other official organizations within the Boy Scouts of America and the Girl Scouts of the USA are welcome to rip off the stuff on this website as long as it will be used for Scouting and the ideals of Scouting, and as long as no part of it is sold or traded.  We would like credit for our work, though, so don't put your own name on anything.  If you'd like a copy of anything, send a message to the Troop Web manager, whose address is linked at the very bottom of every page.  He'll send it along if you catch him in a good mood, which usually occurs immediately following meals, or after a nice nap.  I could also put a link to the Web Manager in this paragraph, but I find text that is full of redundant links to be frustrating to read, kind of "noisy."

bullet    Speaking of links; if you'd like to link to this website, well, that's a bit more difficult to pin down.  Let's agree that Troop 396 does not wish any site that contains any form of advertising to link to any part of its site.  We realize that this will prevent many Scouting organizations from linking to us; those who use various "free" servers that provide web space in exchange for posting advertisements on the pages.  Unfortunately those users have no control over the content of the advertisements, and our fear is that visitors may associate us with inappropriate subject matter.  We also do not wish any of our pages to be linked to from any part of a web site that is used in any manner to produce any form of income or any compensation.  My, that certainly was allot of "any's."

bullet    About our own links; well, it's hard to resist linking when there's so much cool stuff out there that we know our Scouts would be interested in.  Users should be aware that they leave the Troop 396 website when they follow a link, and we can't control the content outside our site.  All of the links on our page were reviewed and seemed harmless at the time, but things change.

bullet    Troop 396 does not put names, phone numbers, Email addresses, or other personal information on its website.  Unfortunately the worldwide web has become such a playground for the immoral that we fear what unscrupulous people may do with the information.  If you want to contact us, you'll have to use the Troop Web Manager Email address, which is found at the bottom of every page.
