KIRSTY MACCOLL
1)Who Killed Kirsty MacColl? BBC 4 12/18/2004 Documentary investigating the mystery behind
the death of singer/songwriter Kirsty MacColl, killed by a speedboat in Mexico in 2000.
The boat, travelling at high speed in an area restricted for divers, belonged to one of Mexico's
wealthiest businessmen but no-one has been prosecuted over the incident. Kirsty's mother
Jean's search for the truth and her attempts to bring those she believes are responsible to
justice are documented here. 58 minutes DV-4032

13)A&E Biography - Women That Rock!: Mama Cass 9/19/2003 Mama Cass tells the story
of one of the all-time greatest female talents in Rock 'n' Roll. She is best remembered as
the heavy-set singer in the Mamas and Papas whose voice and presence fueled the groups
rise to stardom. Cass Elliot died tragically in 1974 at the age of 32 from a heart attack.
The initial report that she had died from choking on a ham sandwich is one of the great
urban legends. Mama Cass tells the fascinating story of a big-hearted, talented pop star
silenced at the height of her career. Many of Cass's closest friends, fellow performers,
musicians and associates - including Michelle Phillips, Denny Doherty, Graham Nash,
David Crosby, John Sebastian, Dave Mason, James Hendricks, Carl Gotlieb, Owen
Elliot Kugell and Tommy Smothers - help shed light on the life of a wonderfully alive
and talented performer. 60 minutes DV-1309
14)California Dreamin': The Songs of The Mamas and The Papas PBS 3/2005
Forty years after the '60s folk group The Mamas and The Papas rocketed to pop
stardom with the record California Dreamin', this new special celebrates the group's
harmonious sound and enduring hits. Exuding a laid-back, southern Californian
lifestyle, the quartet of Phillips, her late husband, John, Denny Doherty and the
late Mama Cass Elliot captured the hearts of their contemporaries, critics and fans
nationwide with such tunes as "Monday, Monday," "I Call Your Name" and
"Dancing in the Street." This one-hour special features a collection of The Mamas and
The Papas' classic concert and television performances -- many of which have not
been broadcast for 35 years -- as well as rare home videos and exclusive interviews
with band members, family and friends. 60 minutes DV-4233 DV-7338

MARTINA MCBRIDE
1) Intimate Portrait 11/2002 Lifetime Martina McBride shares the story of how she followed
her dreams of country stardom. The charming and humble singer traces her career back

brief stint as a front woman in a rock-and-roll group. She also spent a year on the road
selling T-shirts at Garth Brooks concerts. The hour looks at the success of such singles
as "My Baby Loves Me," "Wild Angels" and "When God-Fearin' Women Get the Blues,"

issue of domestic violence. Included are remarks by Garth Brooks, Reba McEntire,

MTV VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS:
1) 8/29/2002 Saturday Night Live's Jimmy Fallon hosts the 19th annual ceremonies in New York
City. This year, the performances represent a wide variety of genres...to put it mildly.
Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band open the show with "The Rising", also on the
bill: Eminem, who is tied with Missy Elliott and P.O.D. with six nominations each;
Shakira, tied with the White Stripes with four; and Pink, who took part in last year's
Best Video of the Year, "Lady Marmalade," and scored three nods this time. Nominees
Ashanti, Nas, Sean "P. Diddy" Combs, Ja Rule and the Hives are also expected to
perform, along with Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, Sheryl Crow, the Vines
and 'N Sync's Justin Timberlake, who is set to debut "Like I Love You" from his
forthcoming solo album, "Justified." Among the presenters: Spears, Avril Lavigne,
Enrique Iglesias, Brandy, James Gandolfini, Usher, Linkin Park, P.O.D., Kirsten Dunst,
Johnny Knoxville, B2K, Bow Wow, Nelly, Kylie Minogue, American Idol judges
Paula Abdul, Randy Jackson and Simon Cowell, and the two Idol finalists. 210 minutes DV-60
2) 8/28/2003 The Moonmen ceremonies, which mark their 20th year, have always been a feast for
the eyes and ears, serving up such sights as Sean "P. Diddy" Combs' head-spinning
acrobatics in 2002 and sounds like Elton John's unlikely 1992 collaboration with
Guns n' Roses. More memorable and outrageous moments tonight starting with the kiss
between Madonna, Britney Spears, and Christina Aguilera as Chris Rock hosts the event
from New York's Radio City Music Hall. Missy Elliott leads with eight nominations,
followed by Justin Timberlake with seven, and, from another generation altogether, there's
Johnny Cash with six for his evocative "Hurt" video. Also up for honors are 50 Cent,
Mary J. Blige, Christina Aguilera, Coldplay, Good Charlotte and Beyonce Knowles,
all of whom are slated to perform, as are Linkin Park and Metallica. Also includes
Post Show interviews 215 minutes DV-1189
3) 8/29/2004 The MTV Awards show on Sunday featured a kinder, gentler version of past
shows. Usher showed as much skin as anybody, preening in front of the camera
barechested as simulated raindrops fell on his chiseled body during the opening
performance of "Burn." And the sometimes raunchy comedian Dave Chappelle even kept
it relatively clean - despite teasing that he wouldn't. There may have been plenty of sex
appeal on show in Miami - cleavage was the main fashion trend for women, cool colors
for men - but little shock appeal on hand. MTV was ready, though, using a several-second
tape delay for the first time. The audio delay, used for years, was in heavy use during the
hip-hop medley, which featured Lil Jon, Petey Pablo and Fat Joe. The change of scenery for
the awards, typically held in New York or Los Angeles, helped raise the decadence level
at the celebrity-soaked affair, held at the downtown AmericanAirlines Arena. OutKast's vivid
"Hey Ya!" - perhaps best described as the old Ed Sullivan show on acid - won four
awards, including video of the year. Jay-Z's "99 Problems," the most nominated video with
six, also won four. Usher won his first moonman as he took best male video for "Yeah!"
As usual, the awards were an afterthought to explosive performances and surprise cameos.
Alicia Keys gave a dramatic, soulful spin of her hit "If I Ain't Got You," and was buoyed
by Stevie Wonder on harmonica. Moments later, she joined Wonder and Lenny Kravitz as
they sang a classic Wonder hit, "Higher Ground." Keys also appeared on stage to honor the
late Ray Charles, who died in June. The daughters of Democratic presidential candidate
John Kerry and President Bush made an appearance - the Bush daughters on videotape -
to urge people to vote. Even the Rev. Al Sharpton made an appearance connected to voting
not for the election, though, but for the viewer's choice award. Acclaimed rap newcomer
Kanye West staged a dramatic version of "Jesus Walks," then instead of using a Chaka Khan
sample for his hit "Through the Wire," brought the R&B veteran onstage to sing the real thing.
In a strange stunt, Flaming Lips singer Wayne Coyne appeared on stage enclosed in a big plastic
ball pushed by fans on the arena floor. But perhaps the most surreal, and bizarre, performance
came from the Polyphonic Spree, the twenty-something member rock choir that performed in
multicolored, choirlike robes. They looked like members of a lost cult from the 1970s. There
also was an appearance by uber-twins Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen. Mary Kate, who recently
was treated for an eating disorder, alluded to her ordeal before introducing Jessica Simpson.
Includes Pre-show arrivals 240 minutes DV-3120
4)MTV Video Music Awards Pre-Show MTV 8/28/2005 Celebrities arriving at the event are
interviewed. Also: Mike Jones, Paul Wall, Slim Thug and Rihanna perform.
Hosts: Sway, Kurt Loder, John Norris, SuChin Pak and Gideon Yago. 120 minutes DV-5382
5)MTV 8/28/2005 The 22nd annual music fete, which honors the best videos of the year,
features Sean "Diddy" Combs as host. Slated acts include Mariah Carey, Kelly Clarkson,
Coldplay, 50 Cent, Green Day, the Killers, Ludacris, Shakira, Kanye West and R. Kelly.
Green Day won seven of the eight awards for which it was nominated, including the top
prize, video of the year for "Boulevard of Broken Dreams." The VMA show, hosted by the
"P"-free Sean "Diddy" Combs, came off three days after Hurricane Katrina blew through
South Florida, killing 11 people. Several events leading up to Sunday night's show were
cancelled, although as the weather cleared over the weekend, a number of parties kicked
back into gear. Despite all that, the awards still managed to remain festive. In addition to
Green Day, Kelly Clarkson, Gorillaz, Missy Elliott and Gwen Stefani also won multiple
awards, and performance highlights included MC Hammer retaking the stage to do "U Can't
Touch This" to 50 Cent unleashing a tirade at rival rapper Fat Joe during a medley of several
songs. 220 minutes DV-5383 and DV-5384
6) 2006 MTV Video Music Awards Pre-Show MTV 8/31/2006 Red-carpet interviews with
nominees, performers and presenters. 90 minutes DV-8098
7) 2006 MTV Video Music Awards - Jack Black hosts the 23rd annual event, held at New York
City's Radio City Music Hall. Performers include Ludacris, Beyonce, the Raconteurs, T.I.,
the Killers, Christina Aguilera, the All-American Rejects and Justin Timberlake. Presenters
include Jennifer Lopez, Jessica Simpson and Ne-Yo. The only unscripted moment of mayhem
this year came when some unidentified person crashed the acceptance speech of Panic! At the
Disco, who won video of the year for "I Write Sins Not Tragedies." Before any group member
got to say a word, the crasher took the mic, giving shout outs to rapper Remy Ma and saying,
"MTV never gave me my own show!" 240 minutes DV-8098 DV-8099
