Margaret is a graduate of St. Paul Bible College (Crown College)

University
of Minnesota and McPhail Conservatory. She is an lifetime member of the
National
Federation of Music Clubs and is a former (1983-1985) State President
of
the Alabama Federation of Music Clubs.
Stan is a ham-radio enthusiast (AK4F), master-of-all-trades,
Father,
and retired electrical engineer. He worked for the Department of
Defense performing defensive Army missile research and development for
35
years before retiring in 1983. His team played a
pivotal role in early development of the Patriot missle that proved so
valuable during the first Persian Gulf Conflict.
Stan is an Auburn University
alumnus (1948) (War
Eagle!!). After graduating from Auburn, and
before returning to Huntsville in 1950, Stan worked for several years
at NACA (pre-NASA) at Langley Air Force Base in Hampton, VA. There,
Stan met Margaret who was Minister of Music at the Wythe Parkway
Baptist Church in Hampton.
We (Stan and Margaret) have three
children
(Susan Buchalter, Cathy Knight, and Stan Owen, Jr.),
four grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Our children are adults
and live in Trussville, Talladega, and Huntsville, respectively.
We (Stan and Margaret) played active
roles
in our
local church until health no
longer allowed; both of us taught Sunday School classes until 2007.
Stan remains a
Deacon.
Margaret was formerly a minister of music and choir director with many
years of
service
in a number of churches in several states.
Both of us (Stan and Margaret) have
long-standing interest in our families'
geneology. Margaret Morgensen Owen has been an active member of the
DAR through
her Breck family ancestors.
We are both "born-again"
Christians and consider our faith to be an integral part of our
lives.
We are fundamentalist and believe that the Bible is the inspired word
of God and that Christ is the only
hope for the desperate
condition of the world.
