It is believed that this phantom is that of Julie de Terant, who was to marry a French nobleman. During the ceremony, she ran from the house and threw herself head-first into one of the oak trees. She killed herself because she was in love with another, but was being forced into a pre-arranged marriage with the French man.

The old execution chambers and morgue now house offices, while the main two story building is located over a basement of some sort which is always dark and seeps with water due to the high water table in Louisiana. Employees have experienced the sound of footsteps on numerous occasions, which upon close examination, have turned up with no one being in the area.
