I apologize for the simple design, lack of thumbnails, etc. with this site, but I find myself lacking time to get fancy or complicated.  I hope that this go around that I'll be able to keep things updated better if I keep it simple.

KF4LMT's Monitoring PostMy blog on scanning, monitoring, motorsports, and other things that may cross my mind.

Coastal Georgia ScanningMilCom, Fire/EMS, and Search and Rescue monitoring information.

The Internet could probably do very well without my photo.
The camera didn't break, so it's not my fault if the photo breaks your computer.

While I am an amateur radio operator, I am just a Technician Class, and prefer the monitoring side of the radio hobby over the active "contact" making side of the hobby.  Once upon a time, I enjoyed going to airshows, but since our government decided that aviation enthusiasts and radio hobbyists are terrorist threats, I have lost interest.  I simply got tired of being looked at and treated as if I was a security threat just because I liked taking photos of aircraft and listening to them on a scanner at the same time.
Radio Monitoring is my main hobby.  Most of my monitoring is VHF/UHF with an emphasis on Military Aviation Communications, Federal Communications, Fire/Rescue Communications, and Search and Rescue Communications.
Additionally, I am a motorsports fan.  I enjoy auto racing of many different types, from Formula 1 to Sports Cars to NASCAR.  Be it the local short track or the professionals on the most prominent tracks, I enjoy it all.  Each form of racing has its own allure and excitement.  If I'm not playing with the radios, I can usually be found in front of the TV watching a race.  It's not unusual to find me doing them both at the same time!

Besides enjoying the radio hobby and motorsports, I am a voracious reader.  Most of what I read is military history and biography.  The military history books fit my interest in military communications.  Besides the applications to the radio hobby, I also enjoy getting a perspective into the decision making process so important in military history.  I prefer biographies of historical figures and persons who make a difference in our world.  I may or may not always agree with the beliefs or causes of these figures, but I always look for something to learn from their lives and experiences.
